I have seen some improvement after 3-4 charges, but it keeps draining without any reason or doing anything. Keep closing all the apps with task killer. Also phone idle and phone sleep keep eating the battery most.

I chrged mine al last night (think it's the 6th charge).

So far today I have listened to music about 30min, talked a little and sent a few messages and a few quick web sites.

It's now on 88%.

think this is pretty good. I've found that with average usages, which is a little more than what I listed just now, it lasts for two full days, then it needs a re-charge.

mine is just loading all this crap in the back while it's idle... i know that when these are shut down the battery will hold 3 times longer but can't seem te find the answer on how to do that.

task killer will only kill them for a few seconds :(

next to that i've no complains.

Try downloading a startup auditor - I've just found one for ($0.99) on the market.. I've been having the same irritation on mine.. hoping this help to cut out some of the crap I've got no plans on using!

an update. I turned off wifi, Bluetooth, and GPS and all syncing and after several hours it slept like it should. I turned on moxier mail and it'd drain like mad. I turned that off, (making sure to close it with taskiller) and used the basic Google sync and it continued to sleep like it should only going down a few percent in sleep mode. once I've installed the screenshot thing I'll. show the battery rate I've been getting.

Hi - Do you think it's Moxier? I've not set that up on mine - but I noticed that it does keep self starting.. I've just installed a startup auditor and have set it to prevent moxier from self starting or starting on reboot.. Or is your suspicion with the general sync'ing features? I'm syncing now using Gmail sync rather than SE sync. I'm spending way too many late nights mucking about this this!!.. My wife's HTC Legend has lasted about 4 days without recharge... !!! (although she doesn't use it much....)... my X10 drained over 30% last night even in Aiplane mode... I hope that between us we can get to the bottom of this..

well yes, i think its moxier to. i also have some startup auditor but moxier keeps getting on while i have never used it.

besides that ive no sync's on except se sync, so unless i use gmail it won't sync.
but there are quiet some apps that startup unwanted. i think those are the problem.

if i find i way i'll post it here :)

Hi -I've set moxier mail to not start on startup and also set it to not allowed to self start at anytime... I've also switched the phone off and on.. been half an hour now and moxier hasn't yet self started.... fingers crossed?!

the startup auditor I downloaded is called "Startup Auditor".. vesperanovus.. when you select an app you have 2 options - one is "Startup disable" and the other is "Keep Disabled".. I selected both for moxier - and a few others too!. (Browser- cos I'm using a different browser to the default one; Maps - only disabled on startup - cos I can't see any reason why it's needs to load up when I don't need it!).. and PICO TTS (I actually don't know what this does.. but doesn't seem to have caused me any problems!)

I've been using this crap for a couple of hours 2 days ago and what I found out is that it's actually a task killer which automaticly kills some tasks as soon as it boots and auto checks some processes don't start again.

Than I came past TaskPanel and found out it basicly did the same thing better and for free!

Btw, it's true the battery get's better over time! Mine went out after 10 hours the first couple of runs and now has 40% left after 10 hours :)

For the first two days of the X10's life with me, the phone didn't leave the house.
First day, left phone in house off charger, gone for 12 hours, come home to battery at 5%. Timescape configured, K-9 Mail.
Second day, had installed Startup Auditor and 'Keep Disabled' Moxier, gone for 12 hours again, come home to battery at 70%.

Bearing in mind that both days, WiFi was enabled as was Bluetooth, and mobile reception here isn't brilliant.

On another note, my X10 charges terribly slow when using the charger that came with my Nexus, despite being able to output a higher current. 1.5A iirc vs only 700mA on the SE charger.

Here's a chart of what I've been testing~

chartq.jpg

and the effect?

testingd.jpg

So far here's what I've got.

Phone won't fully sleep if you have the following on. The battery will continue to drain if you have the following on even if you're not using it.
  • Wifi
  • Moxier sync (sync has to be on, it doesn't appear to drain even if it's running in the background)
  • General sync settings -> auto sync

The phone will retain battery if you're not using even if the following are active.
  • 3G
  • GPS
  • Sync with google (gmail)
  • Twicca

I have anything that syncs turned off at the moment and will continue to turn things on one by one and will log it here - once I have a pretty decent list I'll write a little guide to hopefully help people get better battery life.

Yeah, good job nihonjintaylor. That's the sort of info we need to sort this issue out.

BTW, nihonjin & taylor don't really go together. What's the story :)

Yeah - Seems like a SE fix required - I mailed them earlier through their support site.. would recommend everyone does that to make sure they know.. I bought my wife a HTC Legend yeaterday - She's had that on since 0600 this morning and the battery's still almost full!!
I got the same battery problem as well....

I wanted to buy HTC Desire originally...
But it is not launched in Taiwan...sign....:(
