Hi all, I apologize for my English.

I am Porting Ubuntu Touch OS to Samsung Galaxy i9300 ...

I'll upload the file in this Post when I get ready.

Requirements

For install ubuntu touch you need:

  • Cyanogen Mod 10.1 (Last Build)
  • TWR 6 (Included in CM10.1 Nightly Build)

the first rule of fig... huh.. xda is you don't ask for eta's.
the second rule of xda is you DON'T ask for eta's. :)


it's done when it's done. really looking foward to that good luck mate. :) we're here for whatever beta testing you may need :good:

well, all this thread is doing is provoking people ask for etas. maybe close it and reopen when it's ready?

Got the sucker to compile. It ain't easy as 1-2-3.

Got it to boot, and it boots way faster than android. UI is slowish, fonts are tearing apart and I can't make a phone call or connect to a wifi.


But it works!

If OP want's me to tell him how I got it to compile please contact me on PM. I really don't have the time to develop this

    format the Cache. System and Data Partition
    Install first ubuntu-for-i9300.zip
    Install at last quantal-preinstalled-phablet-armhf.zip
    Reboot Phone and hope it works :D

    For those of you guys who want this as a second ROM then its not possible to boot cause I think Ubuntu uses a different kernel. So don't waste your time complaining about Ubuntu not booting as second ROM cause many others complained about it already. Its only the first test release. Post something that would help in the port of ubuntu rather than nagging and asking for ETAs

    Flashed trough Siyah CWM worked, ROM IS WORKING, congrats ! Now I will try some features and I will give my feedack :D

    Feedback: Buttons and soft-keys aren't working, it deosn't asked for PIN code (SIM card), can't turn off screen, camera is not working, sound is not working, wifi is not working, some apps are freezed, aren't working
