Okay out of nowhere I have this fake ipad ad on my notification bar and I've never seen it before. Any idea about it? (I haven't clicked it yet because idk if it would ever come back)

roflmao what are you talking about been running miui in 1 shape or form since my evo 4g days and NEVER have had this happen

I'm talking about the fact that the orriginal miui ports before all the translations were finished were known to have some kind of call home service. the rom was comunicating with servers in China.

we all know about carrier IQ but China has been doing much worse. even iPods made in China were found to have malware at one time.

You have some app installed that pushes ads to your notification bar. Any new apps you recently have installed?

I had the same thing. It was from one of the app I installed. I used "airpush detector" to detect which app had that problem and I uninstalled it asap.

hit the thanks button if this helped!

This.
I found out it was the mp3 search app that was spamming me by running Airpush Detector. 'Airpush' allows the app to send you ads even when the app isn't running. If you have the Android market Mp3 app uninstall it and go to the Amazon market and they have an Mp3 search app without the Airpush spam.
