It only breaks warranty if the damage is a consequence of you removing the film.
Meaning if your screen shatters you can't say I want a replacement because you removed the protective layer (but you wouldn't get a replacement even with the protector on anyway).
Total baloney, loads of people removed theirs from other Xperias and had no trouble whatsoever. The Z is no different.
Glad I did it, screen feels so much nicer to the touch.
But the Sony Logo will be gone if you remove it, right?
Won't there be much more Fingerprints on it? Heared the Screen doesnt have an oleophobic coating?
no, sony logo will be part of the glass. someone else confirmed it in the other thread. the photos you see online are the pre production models.
btw, most companies saying stuff like it may or will void your warranty when you removed it and blah blah.....sometimes they just want to scare you. They dont want you to remove it so they dont have to deal with it. just saying ~

Unbelievable.
They create a glass phone and cover it in plastic![]()
Read with understanding...
They will not repair your device if you take it off and damage the phone in a way that is a direct result of that...
If the internal hardware is faulty, they won't look at your screen and repair the phone.
If you'll damage the screen though ( crack, broken glass pieces damaging the screen itself etc ) and have the film removed - they'll most likely deny your claim.
If you decide to take a safety measure off - don't blame Sony if you damage this particular part. It's obvious, it's understandable, it's perfectly fair.
Guys you are missing the point here. If you break the screen with or without plastic film warranty won't cover repairs in either case, but it will be much easier to shatter screen without protective film. Same amount of force which is enough to shatter unprotected screen won't be enough to shatter screen with film on it.
