Current Stable Version: V1.1.2 (Link)(For Fresh Installs [Recommended for when switching to this ROM] )
Current Update Version : V1.1.2U (Link) (For Updating & Saving Settings. [Only to be used to update a previous version of this ROM!)

Hey Everybody!

This is the HeroLight ROM. It removes many apps that are not used, and focuses on making the device as fast as possible.

Here is a quick list of awesome features :

* Hero rom 1.79.482.3
* HTC Camera With Touch to Focus!
* MultiTouch (Albums, Browser, PDF Viewer)
* CPU Max set to 528MHz
* BusyBox 1.14.3
* SuperUser
* Voice Search
* Market Enabler

I have taken this ROM and removed the following apps that use up resources :

BizCardReader
Stocks + Stocks Widget
HTC CIME
iWnnIME
FootPrints + FootPrints Widget
HTC Sync
HTC Horoscope Widget
Twitter + Twitter Widget
Voice Dialer
Launcher (Warning : Original Android Home)
HTC Plurk
HTC Sound Recorder
HTC News Widget
HTC Plurk + Plurk Widget
Spare Parts (DL From Market)
Tether
Google Maps (DL From Market, keeps it updated)

Know Issues :

-Bluetooth not working
-LEDs (trackball LED works though)
-Clock widget does not flip down
-People app crashes when searching. Trying to fix this.

Since many people wanted some apps that I removed, here is how to put them back on. THIS WORKS FOR MOST APPS BUT NOT ALL OF THEM!!

1) Put the .apk of the app into your tools folder of SDK
2) CD there in terminal
3) Run the following commands :
Code:
adb remount
adb push XXXXX.apk /system/app/
Thats pretty much it! I hope you enjoy! Credits go to :

Thank you to share
Can be used for HTC G2?

What is the G2?

This is for use on the HTC Magic 32A

*Edit* Whiel testing V1.1.1U, I found a bug. My computer recognizes "new harware", such as ADB and some sort of HTC Magic Composite ADB Interface. I am not sure how to fix this, and whether or not this problem extends to V1.1.1

This sounds like a great ROM just one question, can the Hero music player be pushed back in ? Really like the music player but can do without the rest of it. ;)

Ya sure. Just put the music player in your tools directory of SDK and run the following commands :

Code:
adb remount
adb push HtcMusic.apk /system/app/
adb push com.htc.MusicWidget.apk /system/app/

Should work. I attached both of the files in a .zip

Also I have discovered a bug, and may have fixed it. I am uploading a new ROM (V1.1.1U) that should fix the problem. The download will be up tommorow.

Thanks WaterMan.
This is actually almost exactly what I would have removed. I use MyHero 1.1.0 now, and have uninstalled many of the same applications manually. I did not dare to remove Launcher.apk. I only use Sense, so Launcher is perhaps not needed, but could you explain the pros of removing it (and possible downsides, it any)?

Except for taking a long time to do, is there any problems with uninstalling these applications from the original HyHero ROM by running "adb shell rm /system/app/<application_name.apk>" (and remove the odex in the same manner). Are there any advantages in removing these in the ROM cooking process?
(I'm thinking of starting with building my own, so any tips/link to ROM building is appreciated!)

Does this release have the same issues with crashes in People app when doing a search?

Thank you for contributing to making excellent ROMS for the HTC Magic!

HTC Magic 32A=G2
The Taiwan Model is called HTC G2.

Who installed this Rom, then you can share with your screenshots?

@ betelgeuse :

When removing things in the ROM cooking process, there aren't really any benefits than removing them manually.

If there is any issue with the people app, if someone would be kind enough to upload a .zip with the apk in it, I can implement it in the next update.

And your final question, removing standard launcher frees up a lot of extra space. The only downside is that you can not use the android homescreen. But you can use the Android widgets in TouchFlo.

@ Kumar, why would you want to lock to 3G only??

@lokto, install it seperately. If you search around a bit you will find it.

Have to try this out, but downloading v1.1.0 cause i like the Music app as well and then if i like it i will try to push the app into a new version of the Rom instead. Sure sounds promising and looking forward to see the difference on speed from myHero which i'm been running for a few days now!

Thanks for sharing!

This ROM sounds really great! I have a few questions tho.

1. Is the flipclock with weather animated? (Does it flip?)

2. Is there multilaunguage input, like Danish etc?

Kindly regards from Thomas.

Yes the clock flips but i never noticed the weather in the clock been animated before in myHero or any video's ive' seen. The weather app is animated, but no weather widget.

And yes there is danish and other input languages, i'm danish myself. Just press and hold A or O to get aæå :)

Only had this installed for about 1 hour now, but its really snappy!
So far i'm really pleased about this Rom :)

dunno about the flip lock but the danish input works and even better than on the magic (den foreslår selv ord med æ,ø,å uden at du skal holde den inde)

few things I noticed without extensive testing.

There is no English-US

Touch focus for the camera doesn't work as expected, if the intention is to make it behave like the iphone 3GS camera.

Not sure what time fix you made to this, but setting the location using the weather clock widget, will throw off the time on the widget, though the actual time displayed in the top right corner remains correct. The timezone for newfoundland is set for GMT -230 when it's actually -330.
