Dear all,

Do I get this correct?

For us that have the generic Firmware 2.0.2.A.0.24, that can't be rooted, somebody have done a pre-rooted version. In order to install the pre-rooted version, your phone must be rooted :Requirements:
1. Phone must be rooted
2. Busybox from the market installed
Is it just me, or is the room spinning.
The part that I don't get is that the generic version can't be rooted soo instead you can install the pre-rooted one, to do this, your phone must be rooted.....
Franz Kafka wrote something about this long time before the mobile phone was invented.
Sorry, but I have to lay down now...this is just too much...

LOL! you can flash your phone back with the older 2.1 firmware and then root it with Z4root and then install busybox -> xrecovery and install pre-rooted version 2.0.2.A.0.24 via Xrecovery.

Issues...

Every time i go to install xrecovery, superuser privileges are granted but then i get circles with a red line thru each thing.

I have followed all steps that i can find. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a solution?

anyone knows what benefits has to run the advance option: Wipe battery stats

and also to Wipe Dalvik cache, which I understand is convenient if you experience some loop booting problems, I have them randomly yesterday but not today (so far) so is it recommended to run it?

one more question, I have notice that battery lead doesnt stop after 100%, would this affect battery life in a future?

thanks for sharing your knowledge, this is a fantastic tool

Had to install xRecovery manually (apk Installed, but the Installer itself didn't work). Copied the 3 files with Terminal Emulator to /system/bin/. Works like a charm :D Doing a Full Backup now to install the new Firmware.

THANKS ZDZIHU!

Great app!!!! I was hoping and praying I'd come across an app like this. I can be really stupid, at times....nothing like a safety-net :D

Hey zdzihu,

Gz for your works but I have a problem. I am not alone for this as I read. When i did your order step by step everything is fine until the phone restart for go to recovery. When i push the Back button at white sony ericsson logo the phone is stuck at here. The once solution the battery remove and put in again. So, i checked all things and i tried the manually step but the result is same. But when i tried the same steps with your first xrecovery everything is good. I can go to recovery menu. My main problem is I Couldn't resolve this problem on the new firmware which it built in the xrecovery0.2. By reason of I can't put any custom rom to m x10.

I hope you understand me, because my english is terrible. :)

Best Regards,

Retibika

    Q&A:

Q: How to use "boot custom ROM/kernel" option?
A: this is designed for ROM developers. This option executes a custom script (/system/kernel/boot.sh), which may be used for multiple puproses like:
    - boot custom kernel
    - boot custom ROM from SD Card
    - dual-boot
    - etc

Q: can you give an example?
A: Sure. Here's the simple boot.sh script to boot the custom kernel:
    Code:
    #!/sbin/sh
    # zdzihu: boot custom kernel

    insmod /system/kernel/splboot.ko
    sync
    cat /system/kernel/miniloader > /proc/splboot/image
    cat /system/kernel/boot.img > /proc/splboot/boot_img
    sleep 3
    echo > /proc/splboot/boot

    Q: What's edify scripting?
    A: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=936175

Q: Will it work with X8/X10mini/X100/T1000?
A: Yes and no. Yes, because it's compiled in compatibility mode (armv6).
But not this particular release. The init files must be changed by X8/X10mini/X100/T1000 devs first. Please check in the relevant threads.

@z, can you please upload v1.0 sources, so we mini pro users, can mod it to fit our devices, thanks.
Soon. At the moment I'm working on integrating update-binary into recovery - without it update.zip might either not flash or damage /system partition. Let's say it's a critical update :)

    Cheers,
    z
