On HTC website (developers section) there is a link to download Android 1.6 for Magic.

this is just a stock image if you flash you will just have a plain donut rom!

also there's this,

you cannot flash these images to a retail devices such as the T-Mobile G1 because the images do not have the appropriate cryptographic signatures.

Hi!

It is not only english...

And it is not for retail Magics. But it is possible to flash it to a Vodafone (with Google) device. If you know how (fastboot or modified update.zip)

Can you go into more detail? Is it possible to just flash it through fastboot without modifying the zip? If we have to modify, what do we need to do?

If someone is kind enough to put together a simple modified update.zip that can easily be flashed on the voda version, I would much appreciate it. I'm not a fan of all those cooked roms, I want just a plain stock 1.6.

Installed on Vodafone Magic
Italian is included !!!

I use the signed-google_ion-img-14721.zip

and inside

i flash system,recovery and boot..

very speedy rom

:-D

i don't understand.

Have you installed just system image from htc site (no recovery and radio)?
