I tried to do as it is written here https://xdaforums.com/mi-a2/how-to/miui-10-install-guide-t3844729, but in our firmware did not find similar files to replace * abl.elf
* prog_emmc_firehose_Sdm660_ddr.elf
* prog_emmc_firehose_Sdm660_lite.elf
mi flash the error, then I replaced prog_emmc_firehose_8953_ddr.mbn and the download ok, but after installation I caught the bootlap, and returned to the stock through the test point. if anyone can figure out what files need to be replaced in firmware 6 pro, then it is possible to run miui.
Sorry for my English

Yeah. If it's possible on A2, must be possible on A2 lite.

I'm just wondering why in gods name someone wants to trade the wonderful clean Android One for a bloated to hell MIUI? ;)

Why not buy a Redmi 6 Pro in the first place, it's even cheaper. :silly:

Miui has a lot more functions built in so no messing around needing to install loads of different apps which would end up making this even more bloated then Miui is.

The places I have looked at A2 lite 4gb/64gb can be had for £135 the Redmi 6 Pro 3gb/32gb £145 so not same price by fair bit also it's lower spec the other thing not sure if 6 Pro was available for lot of people when they did purchase A2 lite originally

I am having a2 lite, and I am also looking for MIUI 9 as I miss some inbuilt features like FM, call recorder, etc etc. But I am happy with phone though.

However, I am facing one severe issue which is I get NO notifications tones for whatsapp, email, sms, and other apps. If I restart phone again it start ringing but just for a while than again it goes off. Please note, I use custom notification for whatsapp groups, personal and some people, but I dont think that should be the problem. I was doing that in my earlier redmi prime2 phone and it was working fine.

Also, I get calls even whatsapp calls, it rings perfectly just no tones for messages or notifications. So please someone help me onto this.

Check your "Do not disturb" status or schedule (if any), your battery saver status and if you have apps like Greenify they might block notifications to save battery.

I'd love to see miui on a2 lite as well bcz I already bought it and the stock experience is kinda boring after all. redmi 6 pro is only coming Chinese so we can't buy it. moreover, the phone is so so Laggy with andriod one.

aside: what is gsi and treble rom? I read it everywhere but unable to understand it.
thx

GSI stands for Generic System Image
for what I've understand the vendor specific stuff is now placed on a different partition called "Vendor" partition (this is called Project Treble)
there's A partition only project treble devices
and theres A/B devices like the Mi A2 Lite

so in windows terms GSI is basically just an operating system without the drivers.
and treble is the partitioning system where you put system on one place and drivers on another

Yes, you suppose that stock android is faster but it's not. My old RN4 is faster than A2 lite. Even RN3 is faster...
