Tried on my Tmobile Wing, get the fatal error: connection sharing not found, anyone know what internet connection sharing .cab will work on the wing to try and get this app running? I am using the TouchIt 3 rom.

I just tried the latest 0.85 version.

My iPod constantly connects then disconnects. Also I noticed my network name has now changed to 'WMWifiRouter'.

0.80 doesn't have this problem.

I am seeing this same error.

When I try to connect to WMWifiRouter from my iPod Touch, it connects and immediately disconnects. On my Sprint PPC-6800 (on the 2.09 firmware) the #777 connection gets dropped and disconnected. The WMWifiRouter program initiates the connection again and displays "Connected to WMWifiRouter" "Ready" until the iPod tries to connect again, gets disconnected immediately, and the #777 connection is dropped; this cycle continues.

This was using verision 0.85 and I have never tried any other version of WMWifiRouter if that helps.

I really appreciate the work in making this an easy to use application. I will keep working on it from my end as I have seen the previous post from a PPC-6800 user that got it to work.

New ICS Installer

For those that still don't have ICS correctly installed.

- Extract the files from the attached ZIP to your computer
- Copy ICSInstall.exe, ICSInstall.bin and cf.cab to your device
- Install cf.cab on your device
- Soft-reset
- Run ICSInstall.exe
- Click Patch
- Wait 'til it says Done
- Soft-reset
- Test ICS ( \Windows\IntShrui.exe )
- Delete ICSInstall.exe, ICSInstall.bin and cf.cab
- Report here if it works

As log output suggests, WMWifiRouter deals pretty heavily with system registry, so I just wonder whether these registry changes have just failed at some point, leaving me with useless wireless adapter..? Also, I can see WMWifiRouter does registry backup, which might help resolve my problem - but the only question is where I can find that backup???

I'd really appreciate any suggestions and help in that matter, as the very last thing I would like to do is hard-reset. Thanks a lot in advance.

Other people have had to hard-reset due to this bug, but as you are on a Kaiser, you can try this:

- Download the latest version of WMWifiRouter from my page
- Install it
- Run it (don't do anything else when it starts)
- Press quit
- Now you should find a file "WMWifiRouter.backup" in the WMWifiRouter folder
- Replace the file with the attached file (inside the ZIP)
- Start WMWifiRouter again
- Options -> Crash Cleanup
- Soft-reset

THIS IS ONLY FOR KAISER!!

Unfortunately, when I try to install it, I get error 'WMWifiRouter cannot be installed' :( Maybe it's because it requires WiFi to be switched on while installation process (as you mentioned on your page), while I can't switch it on?

I've tried all that with my existing v0.83 stored as standalone exe file in My Documents folder, but no luck. :( Maybe if you would send me just exe file with WMWifiRouter v0.85, I could succeed?

Well if you could save your v0.80 and try v0.85 that be great. You can put back v0.80 if v0.85 doesn't work for you :)

Good point :D The EXE is attached inside ZIP. Note that if you get it to work like this again, you should reinstall WMWifiRouter after that using normal installer EXE or CAB.

Note: AGAIN, run this file normall first, and THEN delete the .backup and replace with the on in the other zip.

0.80 doesn't have this problem.

Have you deleted the old network you used with v0.80 ?

Nothing showing up in the Remove programs in the settings area..I just want to remove anything that was installed as a result of installation of the .exe program from my Desktop.. Later on,, when I have more time, I will study this whole process of Wifi sharing, and decide if it is for me.. Thanks for any help

It should be listed under "Jorrit Jongma WMWifiRouter" if you used the installer.

Chainfire, you gotta update the thread title man! ;)

Every day when I come in this sub-forum, I haven't come into this thread at all because I would just read the title and assume there are no versions. Little did I know you're up to 0.85!! Hope you work out the issues... do the post-0.80 versions address the problem I was having with the wifi dropping the connection during file download, but was fixed with the repeated ping command?

I do not own this thread, I cannot change the thread title. The download issue _should_ indeed be fixed. Test it out and let me know.

I Just tried the last version 0.85 on the Sprint PPC-6800 and it works really well. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH. One question will sprint charge me for data or not???

Thanks

That depends on your data plan. Sprint specific registry hacks for multi-nai and such are done, so.. Someone who knows Sprint better than I do should answer this.

ipod touch settings

Hi, I just installed .85 on a newly updated to WM6 T-mobile VarioII. All seems to work fine, my Samsung Q1 can connect to the net fine, I have not been able to get the new Ipod Touch to find a server, the network seems to connect ok but safari cannot. It always comes up with a failed to find server error. I can't find enough settings to specify the adhoc details needed. I'm so close. I also tried a Nokia N800 which again connects to the network, recognises its an adhoc connection but cannot load any internet pages. I appreciate I'm new here and my problems may have been discussed b4, but I have looked thru most of this thread and cannot find the answer

I'm working on something right now that I hope will resolve the issue. Check back here in an hour or so :)

Note that if it's working well you should not have to configure anything on the iPod, just find the Ad-Hoc network and connect to it, that should be all.

Hey Chainfire. Again, great program. I've installed 0.85 on my mogul using the exe and it works great.
I saw you said in an earlier post that you do not own this thread and cannot make title changes ect. You should create a new thread where you can make changes and updates and just link to this thread for reference.

thanks I'll keep an eye on the posts

Try the new version. I'm not sure it'll help, but you can try. DHCP setup isn't going totally my way, I'm thinking about implementing the DHCP portion manually. (I think your problem is name server setup... if you can find that option somewhere, set it to 192.168.0.1 )

I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.

I've got an at&t 8525, and I've followed the directions, put the wi-fi on to my phone, ran it, and then it goes to connect on the phone and via my usb cable and after a minute or so, a notification pops up on my computer and says that I have little or no connectivity.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Is there any way to get this working on a WM6 Classic device?

I have an HP hx2795 with WM6 installed on it, and when I run this app, it gets to "Waiting for connection" when a notification from the system comes up telling me it couldn't connect asking me to check my settings. Then WMwifirouter just stays at the waiting to connect screen. If I set it to Auto quit, it would just quit at that point.

Any thoughts?
