Just downloaded and installed C233B020 ROM. It starts in chinese, but is multilanguage.

Response and performance seems to be good, comparable to ICS Testbuild, WiFi works, Video playback is fine.

But it has one big drawback: No Google Apps installed, means no google sync, no market.

Hopefully a version with gapps will be released soon, improvement from c233b012 is noticable!

Does anyone have an idea, if it is possible to integrate the google apps from goo-inside.me/gapps into the ROM, similar to integrating su functionality?

If you've flashed modified boot.img (bbs.31pad.com/thread-2-1-1.html) or replaced it in firmware - in update.zip then just apply update - like root one (115.com/file/dno84m3o)

by the way after installing googleapps there appears a bug - browser crashes when you choose settings.

Doesent 019 have any gapps either?
My chinese sucks and translate doesnt do a good job at all. I wish someone could write a guide and gather all the needed files at one place

Thanks for info.
If I understand you correct, I download the 115.com/file/dno84m3o file and put it inside the update.zip, replacing an existing one, and then reflash and have root and google apps?
Or is this just root?

Too bad sanix doesn't post on xda, he seems to be doing a lot of research and development on the mediapad, but google-translating between chinese and english is rather cumbersome and errorprone.

Maybe a dedicated forum could help to have all info in one place, afaik there is work done and feedback given on 31pad.com (chinese), androidiani.com (italian) and android-hilfe.de (german), but no place except this poor little thread where the international community can work together (in english).

This should work assuming you have root on the device.

I just installed back the gapps... I'm pulling those google apks from the original rom, installed, and convert them to system apps with titanium backup.

got market, gmail, maps, gtalk, youtube working again :D

here is the list of ROM i've tried

1. c232b012 (the generic version which can be found on huawei site)
2. c240b015 beta, the one posted by monkeydrufy
3. c233b019 (china specific version found on huawei/cn site)
4. the evaaluation ics 4.0 rom

All ROM I've tried above is rootable with same method
1. we need to find the boot.img that match your ROM. this can be found on bbs.31pad.com
2. just flash the boot image using fastboot tools, by simple command
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
3. find the root_cf kits, grabbed from bbs.31pad.com
4. transfer the sanixupdate folder to internal memory and reboot

once rebooted, you will find superuser there :D

the beauty of the root_cf kits also include the vsdcard method to fake vsdcard folder on external card to be linked to /sdcard/
with this we can put those big games data to external card

credits: sanix - bbs.31pad.com

please forgive my bad english :D

Do you have a link for 3 and 4 above?

to root and install gaps first you have to flash modified boot.img (bbs.31pad.com/thread-2-1-1.html) via fastboot or having replaced original boot.img directly in the archive dload\update.zip

second step apply patches for root and gaps (bbs.31pad.com/thread-4-1-1.html)

registration is very easy at this forum
to my regret i can't post files here, ask someone else who can

P.S. I installed gapps from 015beta they are a bit newer, but it's not critical

Went a different path, I just replaced the cust.img.ext4 in the china-B20 with a slightly modified (read: some apps removed) cust.img from the previous overseas C232B12 ROM.
The local.prop from B20 is set to chinese language, phone/sms disabled, whereas B12 is EN/US layout/keyboard with phone/sms and google apps included.
Seems to work good so far.

I just pushed the B20 version to my Springboard using Fastboot (system.ex4) only. The touchscreen seems much more responsive, 4G is still working, no browser issues either. It did a double boot upon the first start after the flash. So far so good!

Which browser bug?

I'm running B20 with cust.img from B12 and browser seems to work just fine.

    Root-ready international version: http://depositfiles.com/files/9f8mfimjz

    Install as usual.

After installing the rom you can root: copy sanixupdate folder to the root memory of the tablet (not in the microsd). Reboot and you are ready!

To shutdown the Mediapad keep pressing power button, otherwise through the menu it will go in deep sleep only.

A root-ready version will arrive in about 3 hours (sorry, my uplod speed is weak, 30/kbs)
