Wonder if they expect everyone to sideload it. Once or twice after I tapped check for updates the button stayed blue for a little while before saying up to date, but I am trying hard to let this be the first device I've had since the og droid to run an OTA update the natural way.

Haven't received the notification yet. I was going to sideload it, got into the bootloader, but everytime I would type in:

adb sideload filename.zip

It would just send me to a list of all adb commands. I thought it was because I needed the most recent version of the SDK, but I was getting the same message after downloading the most recent version. Also, I can't get my Nexus 7 back into recovery. I power it off, hold down vol up, vol down and power, but it just sits at a blank screen (not lit at all). I can hear my computer make the sounds when a USB device is attached, but nothing is registered.

I'm just going to wait for the official notification.

Don't get it, how difficult for them to have OTA for everyone?!?!
We are talking about a company that has google, gmail, etc services that drives trillions/zillions of tera, mega and so on bytes every minute or so!!!
Is it hard to open up the pipes for everyone at the same time?!?

First, check if your device is seen, by typing "adb devices"
If it is, you can go into recovery by typing "adb reboot recovery" If on stock recovery, you will need to go into adb sideload mode. Once in recovery, press and hold the power button, then press and hold the up button. Let go of the power button, and it should show you the menu. With the vol buttons, navigate to the option to adb sideload. Select it with the power button. For convenience, the OTA file should be in the same folder as the adb.exe file is at, that way all you will need to do at this point is type "adb sideload <filename.zip>" If you are on Windows 8.1, you might have issues with the device being seen in recovery /sideload mode. I made a post describing how to fix this in the KitKat discussion thread.

I'm in Japan at a US Military Base and the OTA never showed on my device up to yesterday after going back to full stock. I flashed the OTA zip file.

No update yet either, but like most I sideload the ota. A Google search lead me to reddit to solve my flashing issues lol.

A quick review of this thread found only one confirmation of receiving the 4.4 OTA update, which comes from London, England.

Has anyone in the U.S. received the OTA update?

History has shown that I usually get Android OTA updates on my Nexus devices after 4 to 5 days after Google annouces that they started sending them out.

No joy yet in Massachusetts 6 days in.

Google, have some respect for your customers. If there is a problem with the OTA rollout let us know.

An informed customer is a more patient and loyal customer, a frustrated customer expecting Google to timely act on its pronouncements is not.

Couldn't resist... This thread is entertaining at best.

People, stop complaining. This is XDA. Either sideload it, or stop whining.
