Here is the location circled in red of what I believe to be the wifi antenna as I have broke mine off and experienced wifi issues the same as you, check this area for solid connections.

Does anyone know what the part number for the item circled in red?

I guess it's quite tricky if you never disassembled a phone before. And even if you did, it gets more complicated with every new generation of phones. There is a lot of removable parts, sticky parts, unplug parts, sensitive parts, etc...
I think I disassembled like 80% of my past phones, in certain moment of their life, just for the sake of cleaning, or for housing change, or for keypad change. But I think I will need much more courage for this one, if I ever decide to disassemble it. I was also thinking about white housing, but I don't think I will do it untill (and if) I'm forced to do that.
And the only thing that could force me, is that infamous housing crack, which didn't happen yet.

I don't want to discourage you, not at all. If you decide to do that, just go for it. If you have gentle and precise hands, just do it slowly, step by step, and I believe everything will be ok.

Can anybody tell me if it is possible to change the camera lens? I have scratched it and it really looks bad, so I was wondering if I could do it myself..

The USB / charging port on my old Arc S is acting weird thanks to that I dropped the phone in the floor while moving ZIP files PC <-> Arc S, it doesn't take any kind of Electric charge or USB interaction with my computer.

Can I use this guide to proper and in a safe way repair the mini-USB port so my Arc S will be fully funtional again or is it game over?

Like I said few months earlier...
I was also thinking about white housing, but I don't think I will do it untill (and if) I'm forced to do that.
And the only thing that could force me, is that infamous housing crack, which didn't happen yet.
...I'm about to buy a new white housing, since my silver Arc S is wearing crack above sensor, for half a year already.

It's not a big deal really, as it doesn't affect functionality in any way, and as the rest of the phone is still looking like the first day I bought it, without a single scratch.
However, I want to change its housing, because I'm already a little bit bored with silver one, and I saw few white Arcs in some mobile shops, and I think they look gorgeous in person, even more than on pictures.
Well, now goes the tricky part. I want to buy housing from eBay, and there are quite a few sellers, with different prices, as well as different housings (judging by pictures), and I'm not sure with which one I should go.

I'm undecided between these few:

This one is among most expensive ones (20 pounds) and is titled as Original Full Housing. Judging by pictures and those blue protection covers over sensors, it looks like a good quality indeed. However, it doesn't come with buttons, which is not a big deal.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281116829912?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649

This one is a little bit cheaper (17 pounds), but it also says OEM Housing Cover in title, which suggests it's original too. This one comes with opening tools and buttons, and is obviously different, since there are no those blue sticker protections over sensors and camera.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171066183...me=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649

This one is 15.50 pounds and it also says ORIGINAL Housing Cover in title. This one also comes with buttons and opening tools, but on pictures there is no XPERIA logo on battery cover which is strange. I don't know is it removed from pictures or what.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281055252469?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649

This is the cheapest one, with 15 pounds price. It also comes with opening tools and buttons.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181148209687?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649

And this one is most expensive, with 20,22 pounds, and on pictures it looks nicely manufactured. It comes with buttons and opening tools too.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271061353...me=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649

Now to conclude, I'm undecided between first and second one. But I must say that presentation is very very bad on each of them. Very low quality pictures, from very few angles, that you can't judge build quality at all. It all comes down to guesswork, based on prices.

in my experience, one of signs you can recognize non-original housing is by silver color paint of XPERIA logo and HD sign beside of camera - original are always in two different levels of "grey", non-original are made of same color.

another sign is a quality of sony-ericsson green spherical logo - non-originals are ugly and not well made. also have darker green color. but very dificult to recognize on photos without comparing to original model...

Yeah, I saw that there is a difference in color shades, on Xperia and HD signs, on battery cover.
I will probably go with second one I posted. It says it's OEM housing (although I know this could easily be a lie), and judging by feedback of this concrete housing, everyone is saying that it is of great quality, without single one neutral or negative feedback.

[GUIDE] How To Replicate Your Arc/S Info Sticker

Here is a little help for anyone who is planning to replace Xperia Arc/S housing (because old one is cracked, or you simply want to give your Arc/S fresh new look).
As most of you probably know, the most tricky part in exchanging Arc/S housing, is how to safely remove that under-battery info sticker, with phone identification/information, without destroying it, or wrinkling it.
Well, if you know some basics about Photoshop, here is a little help for you.

I created fully editable psd template, where you can input your phone info and serials, as well as barcodes.
Then you can print it on a sticky paper and have a brand new sticker, that you can stick on your new housing, and forget about heating the old sticker, and trying to safely peel it off.

Preview of how the template looks like:
pnpr.png

And here is a link to psd file:
https://app.box.com/s/t2i8welt5qyfvjpqmaxg

So, all you have to do is:
1. Open this psd file in your photoshop;
2. Take a look at your sticker, and input your information into template;
3. Go to a website: http://www.barcode-generator.org and input your serials from the sticker, to get proper barcodes. First barcode on the sticker is generated from your S/N number, and second (longer) bar code is generated from the longer serial on the right side of S/N one. Save your barcodes as png images, and open them in photoshop. Cut them out, resize them if needed, and paste them in their places on a sticker;
4. After you finish everything, save this file as png image and go to your nearest print-shop and print it on a sticky paper. You don't need to resize it as it is already set in proper dimensions (5cmx5,5cm), with 300dpi density.

And that's it. You will get new HQ sticker, and you won't need to go through troubles with old one.
Now stick it on your brand new housing, and have a brand new Arc/S again.

    EDIT
"meyourchum" has provded a link to get offical disassembly instruction with lot more information.

    Check it for yourself

    Hello folks,

I had a chance to work on my friends arc who bought a Rogers version and dropped it. He had it totally mess on the case and needed the full housing replacement.
I hope that doesn't happen to anyone. I didn't take any photos but I am trying to explain everything as it was to help anyone with this.

    General Note:
    - Anywhere you got stuck, watch some X10 Disassembly video
    - Be very gentle to your phone in this process
    - Besides all the screws the rest of the phone is put together with glue(Sticky Back) and snap(plastic for main board)
    - Using this information on your own risk as I don't take any responsibility if anything happens to your phone.

    Instruction

    1) Remove the back battery cover. Thats the easiest part
    2) Need star shaped screw driver[Trox](I bought the set for $5) there are 4 screws like that and two which opens with phillips screwdriver(tiny) This is what I bought
All the above we all have seen them

    3) After removing the 6 screws remove the front fascia of the phone with a guitar picks, something skinny but sturdy*
    * I recommend not using anything other than rubber or plastic in the whole process.

    4) Main board is snapped in with plastic to the body which easily can be opened.

    5) Little board on the bottom is glued(sticky back @ top) which you can remove with pulling little hard but make sure you don't break it.

    6) Majority of the wire you see connected to mainboard can be discounted (snap in wires)

    7) Removing the screen: from outside of the phone (like you are looking directly to screen like you normally do) you need to put something under neat and raise up the screen. This part has glue as well and its hard to lift but I did it and it should be possible.

    8) if you are doing a full housing replacement, then there are stuff here and there that you need to remove and re-use it on the new housing(Like 3.5 mm jack, HDMI lid, etc.)

Good Luck and let me know if you have any questions.

How hard is it to get to the vibrator? I'm thinking about buying this and giving it a shot. I'm confident on my previous Nokia phones just never dug into a SE. And do you think this would be compatible with the LT15a? Seems like it would.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/Earpiece-Vibrat...596?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a115c7db4

As far as if this works, I should say that I assume it would(no reason for it not to work)
When you open the battery cover and you pull that battery out, you unscrew those 6 screws and the small cover which cover the sim-card and SD card will come out. If I recall correctly, this is on the right top of the phone when you are looking @ it from the back(when its open)...
3.5 is attached to that small cover and it will be removed by unscrewing those 6 screws so by the phone main board on top right corner, you should see the vibrator. If I am correct, then its not hard, since you will just un-snap the cable from the main part.(I mean you need to be gentle with these pieces.

Hardest parts for me where screen - hardware button board - and sticker behind the battery.

    Good Luck

much appreciated for the official guides. I dunked my Xperia Arc in water and after taking it halfway apart following the Xperia X10 video (which is very similar), I found the nice post where somebody put up service manuals!

here is the link to the service manuals if the megaupload link stops working.
