1- revert to your stock rom.
2 - wipe/factory reset in samsung stock recovery

now your phone is completely clean

3- flash TWRP on this thread with Odin
4- then factory reset and wipe cache on TWRP
5-flash CM10 and gapps

Hey, I just flashed the Dream Kernel and softkeys came back. Thanks for your reply though....

Anyway, before I flashed this ROM, I was on the update dated 17/9/12. My phone kept rebooting randomly.
I installed the 21/9/12 and then I was getting screen flicker & the phone keeps rebooting randomly. I'll probably go back to an ICS rom now, just until the JB one becomes more stable.

Thanks to Tallustus and all the testers curently making our S2 4G's life extended with Jelly Bean.

Just an update from me, i am happily running JB with Touchwiz UX on my phone and it flies. I've always been a huge fan of touchwiz.

If you want to kow what i have done to get touchwiz working with CM10 let me know and i will post up some screenshots and instructions how to.

Hi Luncbox,

That would be great if you could advise on how you went about getting Touchwiz UX running?

Also will this be compatible with Embryo 5.2 ICS Rom?

Regards,
Scott

G'day Scott,

Not sure if this will be compatible with Embryo as i have not tested it. Also currently having trouble trying to take screenshots to show everyone proof touchwiz does work.

First thing you have to do is download touchwiz 4.5 theme for cm from the play store. (that gives you the TW status bar icons properly) and apply the theme through system settings.

Then download these 2 files to your SD card:

TouchWiz Jelly Bean Addon 1.0.zip - 80.73 MB

Samsung Addon for Helly Bean Addon_fixed.zip - 62.39 MB

Both files will need to be installed from CWM/TWRP recovery.

First install the "Touchwiz Jelly Bean Addon 1.0.zip" wipe cache and dalvik and then install the "Samsung Addon for Helly Bean Addon_fixed.zip" wipe cahe and dalvik again and reboot.

Thats it. Touchwix UX now working on CM10.

Not sure if both these zip's need to be installed but thats what i did as there are a few differences between the zip's.

Again my Download Post was Updated with latest CM10 Compile (26.09.12)

Download Post can be found here

I'm suggesting everyone to update to this release as it brings some major fixes

- Back Button behaves like home button fixed
- In call echo fixed
- Color glitch for videorecording fixed

Also u need to wipe cache/dalvik-cache after updating, no need to wipe data
this will not delete your userdata !

if u do not wipe u will get some Force closes for example on Apollo so please dont forgett to wipe !

ICS ROM link?

Hi,

I've been watching this thread, thank you for working on the JB ROM for my S2 4G.

Are you able to fix the link for the ICS ROM please? I'd like to try it out and the current JB ROM's problems with Bluetooth are a show-stopper for me using it at this point.

Thanks again,

Is the rom on this site http://forums.overclockers.com.au/showthread.php?p=14764098 also yours?

I have the above installed currently. I noticed a stay awake issue today that i don't think has been mentioned. I used the phone for a 30 minute block while i was at work in the middle of 8 hours, but upon checking my battery stats after work apparently the phone has been awake all day, for 8+ hours. So naturally battery was at 30%

Apologies if this has been mentioned before.

EDIT: Also just wondering where to find new updates as they are developed, and is there an update method or is it simply a case of factory reset and install the latest iteration of the rom?

it's the same.

you dont need to factory reset each time a new release is out. just wipe cache/dalvik and flash it.

Yes this is also one of my roms ...
for the awake issue u should Download BBS (Better Battery Stats) and check for Wakelocks

Updates are posted in this Thread on my downloadpage when i decide to release them

Also u do not need to wipe all the times u install cm10
if u just want to upgrade the rom no need to wipe data / factory reset

Thanks to everyone working on this phone. Much appreciated.
I'm about to test out the latest JB update (26th)

Is anyone else getting random reboot issues? I've tried wiping cache/davlik etc but still getting it.

Really bad screen flicker too.

Hi Lunchbox,

Thanks for posting your method for the Touchwiz 4.5, unfortunately it does not appear to be compatible with Embryo's ICS, i was able to restore back from Nandroid.

But it was worth a try, thanks anyway dude :)

Scott

Currently running the 20120921 build, and have been trying to upgrade to either the 23 or 26 but each time I get

E: Can't open /sdcard/CM**** (bad)
Installation aborted.

Have tried downloading again (and from different sites) but get the same result.

What am I missing?

    Ok Guys

As we had a realy long delay between updates now, caused by a lot issues we got while getting CM10.1 to run.
The last weeks realy got anyoing while i focused new issues each day.
like the anoying in-call-audio issue (people present on irc know what i'm talking about)

I have several weeks of work in patching, merging and fixing behind me.
And finaly can say we have a build up and running wich could be called "stable" or "dayly driver".

the past was also a hard time for some Testers like Sfynx and oc74ne also nutterpc on irc,
i want to say thank you again for all your bugreports/testing/patient etc !!
Also big thx to teamchopsticks for support on irc!

Finaly i'm proud to announce the first stable and public CM10.1 Build for the GT-I9210T.
Also we have a stable Custom Kernel avaible for CM10.1 wich offers Overclocking/Undervolting and some other nice tweaks.

Both Downloads the ROM and Kernel can be found on my Download Thread/Download Center wich is already updated!
Also i have added latest TWRP Recovery release to the thread i'm suggesting everyone to update!

I hope u enjoy the hard work we have done over the last weeks and respect it as well!

    best regards :)

Here's the link to my JB4.1.2 ROM. It's rooted, deodexed and has busybox and custom boot animations installed. I've debloated it a bit, could do with some more though. While I say 'my' JB4.1.2 it's really just the i727 ROM from Sammobile with a custom kernel that has been compiled for our devices and some other tweaks as listed.

You don't need to install the Kernel separately if your using my ROM.

It appears to be working well, though you'll need to make sure that you're running the latest baseband (LP4). Chances are you'll have between no carrier and intermittent carrier problems if you run with LP3, not sure about anything below that. Had a real bugger of a time finding a RIL/modem combination that worked.

I'm using TWRP from Tallastus's download page to install, 2.4.3 I think. It installs it OK but has problems creating backups.

Make sure you wipe system, data and cache.

First boot takes a while so be patient, under 5 mins on my phone though if you're wondering. If it sits on the blue samsung screen that might be a problem, reboot and see what happens. If it's sitting on the boot animation then wait, should take about 90-120 seconds.

I'm not forcing you to install it - it works perfectly well on my phone and I've flashed it 30 times in the past few days with no problems - doesn't mean it'll work for you. If you have any problems I will try to help but it's your responsibility not mine. BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP

    Hope someone finds it useful

Many things already working but still a lot of issues to work on like random reboots etc
but we are a step closer to a working 4.2.1 build for the GT-I9210T
