I'm a US based Nexus user, with a US credit card and US based Google Checkout account, but I'm currently overseas (in Thailand) for a while, and just discovered that the Android Market wont sell me paid apps while I'm here, because Thailand isn't on Google's list of countries, or whatever.

Is there any way for me to get around this? It's really annoying.

Liverpool, U.K.
You could setup a vpn tunnel back to the U.S. via your pc assuming you can use the pc as a wifi access point. This would trick the market into thinking are in the U.S.

Are you using your US-sim card, that should work?

I'm living in Indonesia and couldn't access the paid apps with my nexus one. Thankfully had and old dutch sim-card laying around, popped that in and voila, paid apps available.

Plugging in US (or any country with market) sim + wifi works with unrooted phones. Marketenabler requires root but you don't need to change sim cards.
