Use the power button and then press home instead of the volume down key.

Old argument.......

Let battery discharge......switch off then a full charge..... take off charger, switch on for a few minutes then plug back in till full?

It;s my second day I have my HTC One. Yesterday I managed around 9 hours with 80% of battery doing pretty much every thing I do during the day. wi-fi and 3G combined, video, youtube streaming, reading, browsing. listening to music etc 50% brightness. However today I noticed battery drain. I was using stop watch for around three hours ...later own I checked battery stats and I was surprised that clock app consumed most of all 52% while the runner was boat browser only 14%. I can't believe that simple clock app could drain battery so badly. I am left with 37% of battery at the moment. What is going on?

Z- power save feature seems very aggressive. This is great if you want it. I have not tried the Ones power save as I want data on at all times.
You can keep the data connection with power saver mode.
HTC_One_User_Guide.pdf
Optimizing battery life with power saver mode
Turning power saver mode on helps to increase battery life. It reduces the usage of
phone features that drain the battery such as the CPU and display.

1. Slide the Notifications panel open.
If you want to choose which phone features to conserve power for, tap the
Power saver notification first before you turn power saver mode on.

If Data connection is selected, HTC One automatically disconnects from the mobile
network after 15 minutes when the screen is off and the data connection is idle (no
download activity, streaming, or data usage). It reconnects and then disconnects
periodically when the data connection is idle to save battery power.

2. Tap the check box next to the Power saver notification to turn power saver
mode on or off.

Used to get 3-4 hour onscreen time on my Nexus 4. After using CM10 & faux kernel, I can get 4-6 hour.

Seeing that HTC One can get 6 hour onscreen time at stock, I can't imagine it with a custom rom & kernel, HTC has won my heart :)

Excuse me if this was asked before, but are any of these tests done with Power Saver turned off? I would like to know this because on custom roms there wont be Power Saver.

What does Power Saver exactly do? I can't find it anywhere. Undervolts and underclocks cpu and dims the display?

EDIT: And what temperatures do you guys usually see on GSam battery monitor? You can see the graph and post what was your max temperature.

Thanks.

while doing the Antutu battery test my temp went up to 44oC.

My question is what does a score of 457 mean on the test.

AW: Battery Life?

In Power save mode CPU uses: 384-1100 mhz
In Power mode: 384-1700 MHz. Thats enough to save energy and work smooth.

My god I'm so tired of the crying!

It must be ridiculously hard to be a manufacturer nowadays. No matter what you do, people are gonna *****.

I bet anything in the world if somehow HTC managed to fit a 4000 mah battery into this phone, they'd be threads like "Yeah the battery life is really good but why the hell does my battery take so long to charge??? This is ridiculous!!!!"

From people complaining about .03 of an inch (yes .03 of an inch), to Blinkfeed (which can be COMPLETLEY disabled), how can any of them win??

No phone is perfect and no phone ever will be... And even if it is perfect for u, rest assured... someone else out there isn't satisfied. Don't you guys realize how far we've come in such a short period of time??

Some of us actually grew up in the no mobile era. Where if you left your house there wasn't any way to contact you at all. Stop being little brats. Seriously!!

They're all doing their best. Accept it or don't... but for the love of god, stop crying about every last thing that you don't agree with.

You don't like it? Not a problem, look for something else that fits your needs better. Move on! *****ing here will have -absolutely no effect-. You need to write directly to them, the manufacturer. Tell them how they should build the ultimate phone, cause no one here can change a single thing, and quite frankly, no one here really cares about your discomfort. So take a deep breath and suck it up. And for the love of god, stop ruining it for the rest of us. Perfect doesn't exist... and it never will.
