UK lollipop update

Light blue notification bar on Strava (should be orange), also on ebay, Facebook, imdb, amazon app store, paypal.

Why? strava looks the worst bight orange with light blue bar.

I take it the apps devs must need to change this.

So far on screen time is 34 mins on battery at 81% from 100%, kitkat was around 1hr 30mins by 85%.

:(

What theme are you using?

The Default Xperia one. tried a few others like the blue, black etc. and the same thing.
Notification bar matches the colour of the theme for me e.g. orange theme and I get an orange notification bar (the bar right at the top of the screen yeah?) when I'm in eBay and PayPal apps.

EDIT: You do have to close any apps that are already running when you change theme colour in order for them to respect the colour change though.

Ah right I see. yeah it's theme based. So some apps don't over write the theme as material design apps like playstore, gmail etc. do.

Just updated. It seems that the brightness settings on the quicksettings panel have been nerfed quite a bit. Why doesn't the menu disappear while we toggle the brightness so we can see how bright the actual screen is? And where is the auto brightness tickbox?

Other then that I'm fairly impressed.

It is a bit nerfed yes. But, if you have adaptive brightness turned off then moving the slider changes the brightness in real-time. If it's turned on then there's nothign to show when you move the slider anway. I did prefer the old version though.

Just aheads up for anyone who's going to update to Lollipop, Your device will gradually get really hot at times.

Just got the update on my Z3 here [EE UK] and i can confirm even under gentle usage [couple of apps loaded and browsing] it can kick out a tad more heat,
Its not as bad as the 4k heatup when recording but still noticeable

Only thing i'm not happy about is the lack of RAW for the camera unless that gets implemented later

Doesn't bode well for battery life. But i've not heard that lollipop is worse for battery. See if it settles after a few days; i'm sure even post upgrade there are silent upgrades to play services and the like.

Would be nice to get a proper answer out of sony about the new camera api.

I've been following this thread for a while now, and with the chance of getting executed, im gonna give my opinion on this.
I've owned Sony smartphones since the X10, and yes, Sony is not the fastest at updating, and yes, they did say that Lollipop would be released in february.
But i did'nt buy the Z3 because of that. I bought it because i think it is a beautiful phone with some awesome hardware inside. Lollipop or Kitkat is not gonna change that.
Right now, i'm pretty damned satisfied with how my phone is working, it's stable, good battery life, and it's snappy. I'm looking forward to lollipop, no doubt, but seriosly, it's not a dealbreaker for me.
The phone is still an awesome device, and if i have to wait a week or two for lollipop, it will still be an awesome device for that week or two extra.
All the people talking about selling their phones and buying a new phone from a company that is faster with updates should probably do that, because next time a new version of Android is being released, the story is most likely gonna repeat itself. Still, im sticking with Sony and my Z3, looking forward to my phone getting even more awesome with lollipop.
